Trade Balance and Brazilian Agribusiness Pauline January to October 2010
From January to October 2010, exports of the State of Paulo1 totaled $ 42.48 billion (26.0% of the national total) and imports, U.S. $ 55.75 billion (37.5% of the national total), registering a deficit of $ 13.27 billion. In the same period of 2009, the value of exports grew 23.6% in São Paulo and imports, 35.4%, with a significant increase in trade deficit (+95.1%). Comparing the period from January to October 2010 with 2009, increased exports from São Paulo (23.6%) was below the national average (29.7%), while in imports, the increase was also greater in Brazil (43.8%) than in São Paulo (35.4%). Thus, the conjunction of the performance of exports and imports, trade balance deficit Paulo had increased while that of Brazil's trade surplus decreased.
